Ibo Island Lodge recognizes the important role of business in the conservation of biodiversity and how by employing local people from Ibo, this assists to preserve the natural resources of the region for future generations. A great example of this on Ibo is the reduction of people relying solely on subsistence fishing and instead gaining employment or benefits through tourism.
Just as there was little concept of tourism on Ibo island before our project, there was also little concept of conservation of bio-diversity.
